Halfway Hot Springs

One of our favourite natural hot springs and the closest to where we live.  Always a great place for some R & R for the sore muscles after hiking in the nearby mountains.  Located roughly 13km up Halfway logging road between Nukusp and the Shelter Bay ferry, a high clearance vehicle its recommended for the drive in.  From the small parking lot on the left side of the road you traverse steeply down the bank until you reach the river. Here you will see steam rising, rock pools constructed and a good chance of people relaxing.  Bring some drinks and food for the perfect afternoon getaway or even set up your tent and stay the night if you please.

Recently the BC government has has put a lot of money into the care and upkeep of the area. Popularity was taking its toll on Halfway Hot Springs so there is now a designated parking lot for day use that can hold around 40 vehicles. There is also assigned camping spots for a fee as well as a campground host that maintains the area.
